Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is a small but charming city with a lot to offer visitors. From historical landmarks to quirky museums, there is something for everyone in Reykjavik. Here are 10 things you can do in the city center:

1. Explore Laugavegur shopping street

Laugavegur is the main shopping street in Reykjavik and is lined with shops and restaurants. You can find everything from souvenirs to high-end fashion on this street.

2. Have coffee at Hygge Coffee & Micro bakery Reykjavik

This cozy cafe is a great place to take a break from shopping and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry. The coffee is roasted in-house and the pastries are made with fresh, local ingredients.

3. See the Sun Voyager statue

This iconic sculpture is located by the waterfront and is a popular photo spot. The Sun Voyager is a symbol of hope and exploration and is said to represent the journey of the Vikings.

4. Visit the National Library of Iceland

This beautiful library is located in the heart of Reykjavik and is a great place to learn about Icelandic culture and history. The library has a collection of over 2 million books and manuscripts, as well as a number of special exhibits.

5. Go whale watching

Iceland is home to a variety of whales, including humpback whales, minke whales, and orcas. There are a number of companies that offer whale watching tours from Reykjavik.

6. Check out the Super Mario Bros. Wall

If you're looking for a fun and quirky thing to do, be sure to check out the Super Mario Bros. wall. This mural is located on a building in the city center and is a must-see for any fan of the video game series.

7. See the Northern Lights

The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, are a natural phenomenon that can be seen in Iceland from late September to mid-April. The best time to see the Northern Lights is during a clear night with no moon.

8. Visit the Sky Lagoon Spa

Sky Lagoon Spa is a new spa located in Kársnes, a peninsula in Reykjavik. The spa is built on the site of a former geothermal power plant and has a number of pools, including a hot spring pool, a cold plunge pool, and a steam room. There are also a number of treatment rooms where you can get massages, facials, and other spa treatments.

9. Visit the unique Phallological Museum

Another quirky tip to Reykjavik is to visit The Icelandic Phallological Museum. This will definitely be something you haven't seen before, since it is the worldʹs only genuine penis museum. The Museum is dedicated to collecting, studying and presenting actual phalluses and all things phallic.
