Cerveseria Catalana and Flax&Kale: two restaurants in Barcelona worth visiting

Two of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona are Cerveseria Catalana and Flax&Kale. They are very different with each other but both well worth a visit. I've been to both of them several times.


Cerveseria Catalana

Cerveseria Catalana is a traditional tapas bar that has been serving up some of the best tapas in the city since 1890. The restaurant is always packed, and there are no table reservations, so be prepared to queue. But it's worth the wait! The tapas are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and are cooked to perfection. Some of the popular dishes include the croquetas, the patatas bravas, and the gambas al ajillo. Also the traditional potato omelette Tortilla de Patatas and the sweet dessert Crema Catalana are marvellous.



Flax&Kale

Flax&Kale is a healthy restaurant that serves up delicious plant-based dishes. The restaurant is located in a beautiful space in the Eixample district. The menu changes seasonally, but you can always expect to find a variety of creative and delicious dishes. Some of my favorites include the kale salad, the sweet potato burger, and the chocolate mousse.



Tips for visiting


Here are a few tips for visiting Cerveseria Catalana and Flax&Kale:


- Cerveseria Catalana: Be prepared to queue, especially if you're visiting on a weekend. The restaurant is very popular, so it's best to arrive early.

- Flax&Kale: The restaurant is located in a popular area, so it's a good idea to make a reservation, especially if you're visiting with a group.

- Cerveseria Catalana: The tapas are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes regularly. Be sure to ask your server for recommendations.

- Flax&Kale: The menu at Flax&Kale is also plant-based, so it's a great option for people with allergies or dietary restrictions.

- Cerveseria Catalana: The restaurant is quite touristy, but it's worth visiting for the delicious food. While you queue for your table, you might as well grab a glass of cava and enjoy the city buzz.

- Flax&Kale: The restaurant is a bit more expensive than Cerveseria Catalana, but the food is worth it.

Christmas in Helsinki: Aleksanterinkatu and Stockmann

 As we are approaching christmas, I'd like to give you a small christmas special. I you happen to be in downtown Helsinki in December and up for some christmas spirit, these are my favourite things to do.  Helsinki is a beautiful city year-round, but it is especially magical during the Christmas season.
