One of the most iconic traditions associated with May Day celebrations in Helsinki is placing a student cap on the head of Havis Amanda, the park's beloved mermaid statue. This gesture symbolizes the aspirations and dreams of students, as they embark on their academic journeys. This ceremony us performed by students and takes place 30th of April at 6 PM every year.
